Altmetric’s mission is to track and analyze the online activity around scholarly outputs. It provides a more robust picture of the influence and reach of scholarly work by collating what people are saying about research in sources like the mainstream media, policy documents, social networks, blogs, and other scholarly and non-scholarly forums. Altmetric works with some of the biggest publishers, funders, and institutions around the world to deliver these data in an accessible and reliable format. Altmetric is supported by Digital Science. Find out more at www.altmetric.com and follow us on Twitter @altmetric.

Elsevier Research Metrics offer a broad spectrum of metrics, on both researcher, article, funder, institution and journal level.

PlumX Metrics have been integrated into Elsevier’s leading products and services, including Scopus, Science Direct, Pure and SSRN, enabling more researchers to access these comprehensive metrics.
PlumX Metrics have many advantages for individual researchers, librarians and institutions. These include:

  • Tracking over 170 million pieces of research output over 67 types (articles, books, book chapters, data sets, conference papers, posters, videos and more).
  • Tracking multiple versions of the same article – published, pre-print, green open access.
  • Categorizing metrics for clearer understanding and analysis.
  • Offering more sources of metrics than any other metrics provider.

Kudos provides a free platform for researchers to manage communications around their publications, and a premium service for planning, managing, measuring and reporting on communications activities throughout a project’s lifecycle. Kudos uniquely records and measures not only digital engagement with research but also offline and private communications (such as conference talks, consultancy or email). By mapping this full range of engagement and impact activities against a basket of metrics, Kudos provides a rich understanding of which channels and activities are most effective for broadening audiences and impacts. This data is further enabling Kudos to provide evidence-based guidance for how best to mobilize research.

CWTS Research Program 2017–2022

New ways to value research and scholarship are urgently needed. The increased scale of scientific research and its enhanced role in society have generated the demand to create new forms of information about research in developing research agendas and in the assessment of their results. Developing the knowledge and tools to provide these new forms of information is the main goal of the CWTS research program for the period 2017-2022 entitled Valuing Science and Scholarship: Meaningful relations between quality, impact and indicators.
